FS124 Christy S

The SCS Featured Stamper this week is Christy S. and I chose her Stick a Fork in Me! card to CASE.
I took inspiration from the grid of squares but swapped it up for circles, using Circle Circus by way of basic black on very vanilla. The circles are punched out and placed on the card and embellished with ribbon and hand cut flowers from Petal Pizzaz. The flowers were stamped out and embossed in black and finished with Kaiser pearls. The sentiment is the stamp of the day by Stamp-It, stamped with basic black and edged with EK Success Parisian Punch.

Have Scraps... Add Flies

More Pomegranate scraps, some matching DSP, a dash of Pretty in Pink, some pre-stamped Flies from Kaiser Flora & Fauna, Scalloped Scallop from EK Success and the same Stamp-it sentiment... oh and a dash of bling and a scrap of string!

Have Scraps... Make Flowers

I am a little addicted to making, what I call, yo-yo flowers at the moment... not to mention I have just put some order to my card scraps and find this a good source for these home made embellishments. I have mixed in some Pomegranate and Pretty in Pink card stock with a Making Memories Canvas Brad, adding shine with some PearlEx, sprayed on with water, gives a nice little touch of fine shine. The script is from the Hero Arts Artistic Windows stamp set, and I have used it on the flower petal, leaves and background strip, which is punched with EK Success' Dotted Wave. Managed to squeeze in Ek Success' Parisian punch and some dotted DSP from SU, along with a new sentiment from Stamp-It. Thanks for stopping by...

FS123 Especially for Sumtoy

The Featured Stamper on Splitcoast today is Sumtoy. Her gallery was new to me which is always nice! I took liberty on her Bird of Peace card opting to change the colour scheme, use a different image from the Stem Silhouettes stamp set, and replace the bird with a Basic Grey b2 Butterfly. I have double stamped the wings and popped the top wing up with tape, adding gloss. The featured paper is from SEI's Paisleys and Petals and I threw it together with ColorBox Chalk inks, and Chocolate Bazzill Bling. If you have a chance to play along, please let me know. This will be all for today, I have a few hours of day job work to do tonight :-{ Thanks for looking, see you all soon!

SFYTT Caterpillar Vs Butterfly

Here is a little offering for the SFYTT Challenge this week. Those of us in Brisbane have enjoyed a Papercraft Expo this weekend and this teams up some of my new purchases. We were very excited to see that the EK Success punches have made it to Australia and the band on this card is made using the Parisian punch. I used some new So Saffron DSP for the band and the background paper, stamping my newly acquired Becoming Butterfly from Unity in Timber Brown StazOn onto a transparency overlay (secured with some Making Memories Button Brads). The butterflies are from DarkRoomDoor, stamped on the DSP in ColorBox Chalk Ink. Not sure who makes the scalloped chipboard, I picked this up in a little pack with some pretty ribbon.... I wheeled the background with SU's It's Beautiful and threw is some stickles for a bit of shine... enjoy!

FS122 Kisamari

Splitcoast's Featured Stamper this week is Kisamari and I chose her Color Throwdown card for inspiration. I really loved the colours in this card and wanted to try to achieve that without having to find a stamp that required colouring-in.... The main focus for me was to change the position of the flower and the butterfly, so I chose Hero Arts' Flower Wood Background, stamping off part of the image on white card with Regal Rose ink, I stamped off the large flower in black ink and cut it out, adding gloss and beads to the centre of the flower. This panel is stitched with glossy black cord and tied off with matching beads. The butterfly is one of my favourites from Darkroomdoor, and is stamped and embossed in black on Regal Rose card.
The scallop card and embossed circle I produced with KathyJ's Cuttlebug, I am sure you all know which dies and embossing folders were used.... I don't know the specifics...
I finished off by combining Kaiser Pearls and Heidi Swapp Bling in providing the butterfly with her trail.
Kisamari has a great gallery, check it out and play along with this challenge if you can.

HB Brother-in-Law

I got to play with my new Making Memories Journalling Tabs in throwing together this quick card for my no fuss Brother-in-Law for his Birthday. I love Thickers and it is always good to team the foam letters with the glossy chipboard shapes. Sentiment is from SU's Basic Phrases.
