Try a Tri-Shutter, it's Fun!!

Here is my first attempt at a Tri-Shutter Card, you can find a tute on Splitcoast... they always looked very busy but somewhat fun, so I put this little offering together for my Brother's 40th Birthday.... which is TODAY!!

I started with a seeded matt red cardstock and built from there, primarily with the Adornit Paper range from Carolee's Creations... I won this set of paper, a couple of years back, at a retreat and just keep on using it!!  If I can, I always like to personalise so went with the little plastic letters from Spare Parts.... then I junked it up with some pewter hardware, love love love loopy brads, these ones by Karen Foster.... and I have a little stash of Architexture hardware that is for a special project (that hasn't started yet even though it is 3 years in the making...) so raided this as well... threw in some stars and thickers and the sentiment from Verve stamps to finish off...

Old Boys

Here are a couple of cards that I made for some of the November Boys.... yes for some reason I have 6 boys in my life who all celebrate Birthdays in November... scary spice!!  I chose a red and black theme for the November Boys this year... these were pretty quick and easy, some more complicated ones will follow... that is if I finish them in enough time to take a photo before they go out the door... nothing like "just in time" time management skills!!!

Paper Flower

This week's Technique Challenge at Splitcoast was to make a flower from a paper towel and some glimmer mist, you can find the deets here.  I used Cherry Limeade on plain white paper towel and used 4 circle layers for the flower.  The fabric brad by K&Co drove the colours for the remainder of the card.... importantly I got to use some newly acquired images from the Amy Butler Lotus Floral Stamp set... the leaves under the flower and ribbon and the border of blue flowers which was built from a repeat image and hand cut.  A punched EK Success Border, some Kaiser Pearls and AC Thickers finished off this little challenge offering...
