Wish Big Ms Purple

Here is some more purple ribbon, I am having success in using this in great quantities, all is going to plan, hooray!!

This time with some softer BG paper, I love the geo style of this, yet it has a touch of vintage about it!  Thought I would add a big fat sentiment, and hand cut leaves with a few purple buttons from my never ending box from MM (thanks Dot).

A little twine and some chomped corners to finish this one off!  Thanks for stopping on by, let me know if you are using this purple ribbon, I could do with some prompting LOL!!

Would you like a bit of Bling with your Kaleidoscope Madam?

A little card for this week's JustRite Friday Challenge, I just got my delivery of Kaleidoscope so was happy that the sketch contained a circle this week.

I built the circle with a centre circle (popped up with a spotlight detail), an outer ring which is cut on the inside with a die cut, and the outside is handcut in line with the stamp;  this was followed by a disconnected frame made with Circle and Scallop nesties.

I wanted to incorporate one of the sentiments from the set, so off-set a circle for this element.  The faux ribbon is repeat stamped with another image from the same set.  the darker red cardboard is a result of colouring over the base card (which was a light maroon) with a copic.

Some Spica and Kaiser Bling to finish off.

Queen Grace

I decided to reach right back in the archives for today's Queen at Splitcoaststampers, I would have loved to have CASED one of Grace's spectacular detailed designs, but every one I decided on couldn't persuade me away from her Soft & Crisp card.

So here it is with a few twists in that the colours are totally changed up, different but similar stamp and butterfly and different but similar ribbon and panel treatment.

Enjoy your day wearing that bling filled crown Grace, you deserve it!!

Red Love

My PCB Dot challenged me to use one of her Smiggles Clips on a card and this was the end result.  The good thing about this is that the clip is housed in a sheath and can be removed and put to good use, we might actually be able to find all of the bills we need to pay if in fact they were held together with a fancy clip?!!

I got to use some new to me paper and make some fancy little banner triangles too... and of course a perfect card for another dash of rodents!

Not to mention I put one of the flowers that was making my flower box overflow to good use!

This card has taken to the sea, on its way to someone on the other side of the Pacific, I hope they like it!

Purple Wishes

A bit more purple, I am determined to use more of the PTI Ribbon, it has been a learning curve, it doesn't really tie well, so have incoporated different techniques to get this little baby into use!  And a double passing this time, yay!

This paper was fresh and fun and lent to using chrys rodent, so happy with that, a double layer this time, with the top layer glossed up and embellished with a double button.  I also had these strings of pearls in my bling box and they always stuck out the edge of the box and didn't allow the lid to sit properly, so I am very happy to have put them to use as well!

Here is to using your stuff, in great quantities, I hope you are doing the same!!!

Love Roses--even if they are Blue!!

Another long card, I have a thing for these lately, and kraft again, but if you visit here you know that this is a constant!!

I was also looking for an excuse to use another of the very beautiful but ohh soo large prima roses, this one blends well with kraft, now all I need to do is find uses for the 4 others I have left!!

This was also a great opportunity to use more of my new rodent stamps, loving these, the pic-nic set is fab for backgrounds, and has the little accompany stamps so that you can add detail with the same type of images, one of my favourite things about stamp sets.

I splice a circle in two to build out the sentiment panel and added some twine for good measure.

Thanks for stopping in hope you liked the eye candy today!

Card Patters 65

I thought this week's Card Patterns Sketch would suit a long card, and in place of the centre strip, I framed the main panel with some long brackets.  All the chipboard is pre-embossed with funky floral patters, and colours up easily with any type of ink, gotta love that!

I bought this paper so that I would be encouraged to use some PTI Ribbon that I have been hoarding, should have bought more paper as I am not using enough of this ribbon!!

It is amazing how much colour some simple ink rubbing can bring to your elements, this was fun fun fun!!

Embellish: Butterflies meet Kraft, Black and Green

Have been meaning to play along with an Embellish Colour Challenge for quite some time and couldn't go past the option for some of my favourite things: Kraft, Green and Black and wouldn't you know the request for butterflies.... doesn't get much better than that in my world!!

The hardest part was choosing between the 300 butterflies that I must have, but finally decided on the DRD, lots of different sizes and looks in this set and I have used used used it!!  Mixed it up with some new and some old things in my stash...  I love the TH Die and have been using the MME Chipboard a lot lately (thanks Helen)!!

The green ribbon is actually a green and kraft coloured gingham, I just needed to darken the colours a little to bring in line with the colour challenge and shade of the butterflies...

It was about time that CTORINA was Featured Stamper--don't you think?

I am a week late, but better late than never, and thankfully challenges on Splitcoaststampers never expire!

Ctorina AKA Cathleen is FINALLY the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast, she has a fabulous gallery and is a fine papercrafter, check it out!

I had a plan to use my new TH Die this weekend, so was please (and not surprised) that Cathleen had a little creation I could CASE.  I chose a B&W colour scheme, and opted to incorporate patterned paper and a swinging sentiment, apart from this, this is all Cathleen... Congrats lovely lady, you really deserved this attention!!

Debzi Rox

The very lovely Debzi333 was named Queen for the Day on Splitcoaststampers this week.  She is a true community member and a total crack up if you can keep up with the commenting strings.  She has a gallery full of cuteness but I chose to case a panel card that featured resist emboss samping.  I also went regal with the stamp choice and added embellishments fit for a Queen.

Check out Deborah's Gallery when you get a chance, and play along if you can!!

Mon Amie

I have made a few full length DL cards lately, this one starting from the lovely paper, I wanted to highlight the bird, and managed to wangle the tag frame from my paper crafting buddy Dot (thanks girl!).

I bought the matching fabric brads for this paper, but unfortunately they don't colour match propertly so opted to vintage it up with a little distress ink... then went well with the crochet flower.  I love the sentiment in the frame but wanted to incorporate more copper so coloured up a strip of ribbon and a spliced border punch with the same ink... also stolen borrowed from Dot.

PS:  Sorry about the bad photo, the colours are much more closely matched IRL, but you get that with my photography skills!!

Until soon....my friends!

Mr Five

A little Bot for a happy little five year old. I love using robots for boy cards, and this little fella hasn't had an outing yet, so it was great to mix him up with some bright colours. I double stamped the image and raised up pieces, adding some colour with Copic markers. These thickers are actually a cream colour, but was easy to match in with the image by adding some colour via a Copic marker. A bit of paper piercing and this one was done.

Thanks for stopping by and a Big Birthday Wish to Mr B--High Five Buddy!

'mum Love

This card also started with a new rodent stamp, go the furry things!!!

I stamped the outline flower 3 times on patterned paper and added some die for a vintage and mottled look, layered up and a top two of the fabulous leaves in this set, I love these leaves the best out of the whole WMS release... you will see a more subtle version filling the space on the left hand side.

Love the frames from this release also, and some fab sentiment choices with them.

Thanks for dropping in, see you soon!!

Thank God for Thickers!

Well this card started with my brand spanking new rodent stamps!!  I love Labels 10 and was happy to see a set designed around these nestabilities.  I thought it would be nice to combine with a little group of Blossoms from Verve, I have popped up most of the blossoms for a bit of dimension.

Some gorgeous paper, a splash and dash of Kraft, a few pearls and some of my much loved THICKERS finish this card off... it should have been quick but more time was spent talking than creating this night!!

Nothing like quick and simple, I made a swag of these for a little gift set.  Quick panels of paper, a matching label and a few vintage buttons.

How Does Your Garden Grow

This month's Fan Club Theme at Splitcoaststampers is How Does Your Garden Grow... those that know me well understand that my garden doesn't grow AT ALL... I don't do gardens, but know plenty who do so had to draw inspiration from them for this month's Dirty Dozen Design Team contributions.

Check out the gallery if you are a Fan Club Member, it is a real treat this month and our two new members have done themselves proud.

This card is one that I made for my first Gallery all the way back in January, you may remember the theme was Floral, Feminine and Flirty.

Out of the Box meets CAS

I wanted to make a CAS Card with one of my favourite birds, I love this pheasant! So I opted to use the Out of the Box technique and have him strutting his stuff in a circle nestability. The rest of the card really kept to CAS, and I used more hoarded DSP--LOVE that, another tick on the wall!!

Hey There Mr Leaf

I seem to have an attraction for foliage lately, this one very bold and graphic.  I toned it down a little by choosing a muted colour and using cream as a card base.  I thought it was about time I put my latest Papertrey aquisitions to use too, leaving plenty of white space to show off the lovely impression plate.

This is another quick and simple card, and cred also for using up some hoarded patterned paper, planning on doing more of that in the coming weeks.... have to ramp up the "Get it Out and USE IT!!" motto...

Not much to this but the cutting is great therapy when you need a break from things!

See you soon!!!

Award Time

Thanks to my online buddy Vicki Dutcher for this fabulous award, check out her "sharing" here, she is a fun and fast lady!!

Hopefully we will get to meet IRL one day soon, until then it is great to share time in blogland!

Here are some things about myself:
  • I am not particularly fond of daylight (the outdoors), unless there is a specific task at hand, I am all for bushwalking, beaching and picnics in the park, but once I have enjoyed the task at hand I am quickly indoors.
  • A Heat Gun and hospital grade Scalpel with a box of 11 blades would come to a remote island with me...
  • I am currently homeless waiting for my new abode to be finished... and have realised I don't like being homeless, I initially thought it would be good for a while, no responsibilities and all, but everywhere I go I can't wait to wash dishes and clean out fridges... watch out if I visit you!!
  • I want to sleep on the ice in Antartica.
And I pass this award on to Mrs Love Light and Peace, Bonnie is the ray of sunshine on a dark and gloomy day, the trickle of water in a dry stream, and the hidden lollies (candy) that come out when you scrape your knee.  Visiting her blog is a treat to behold, lovely creations and glimpses of a lovely lady, a true Beautiful Blogger!!

Another Rose Garden Wish

Sorry if you are a little sick of seeing this paper, I am surprisingly not sick of using it yet.... here it is again in a grid pattern, topped with a scalloped circle combo...  I was having some fun with Copics and my great find of tafetta ribbon from Spotlight... this time mixing two colours through the ribbon for a whimsical stripe.  A double bow this time just to show off the stripe and stiff flow of the ribbon!

I keep returning to these wonderful Verve sentiments too, very versatile and I need to remember to use them in different colours more often.

Anyway, another soft coloured card, don't despair there is plenty of brighter colours and styles schedule to come.  Thanks for dropping by, it is nice to have you!

Blondie and her Doggie

Another Caardvarks Challenge, this time a sketch, check it out here.  I wanted to incorporate the scallops with patterned paper and use a little image that I coloured at a recent Copic Certification Course, and this is what became...

The bottom scallop is part of the paper, the top scallop is from a co-ordinating piece of paper, cut out and popped up, with the blossoms raised again on top of that.  Thanks to the fact that the image was pre-coloured, this is a quick 3 minute card, gotta like those!!

Unity--Love at First Sight!!!

This is a card I posted at Splitcoaststampers earlier in the week as part of the Unity Stamp Company anniversary celebrations, the challenge was to make a card with the very first Unity that you ever purchased.

I have very sweet memories of first ordering and then receiving my very first Unity Stamps. I like many others had a big box of goodness come my way the minute the Unity doors opened, it came a week into babysitting for a friends kids while they went to the States for a holiday, just reward I say!!

There were a lot of stamps for me to choose from for the challenge, but the very first stamp set that went onto my order was Butterfly Beauty and the very first background stamp was Jam, so I opted to combine those for the challenge.

I coloured up one of the butteflies a couple of times, popped up the centre wings, added some gloss and bling for good measure.  I stamped the Curvy Rectangle before mounting the butterfly and threw the rest of the elements together from there.

Much more Unity has come my way since then, and no doubt there will be much more in the future, love it all!

ChocoBlue 50

A lot of challenges this weekend, this one a sketch challenge from Card Patterns, I don't normally go for the round cards but have these fat scallop nesties that seemed to be calling when I looked at this sketch.  I swapped out the square panel for another roundish one, I love the Prima labels and it was time they got on parade again.

I got to use some extra flowers from my dabble with Core'dinations cardstock over the last week, and I squeezed in a Hero Arts favourite for the background.

What's in it?

Moorish Monotone

So I have to come clean, I got a little excited at the encouragement to make monochromatic cards when I skimmed on by Caardvarks, three more for you today, I made a few more too, but won’t overload you with one tone cards...

I chose some colours that I don’t normally work with in the particular shade available in Core’dinations, I like to do this every now and then, and added to the challenge of using only the same tone this was extra challenging, but I had fun!!

The first is Red Rose, so in keeping with the named card I opted for a blossom feature, this came together nicely thanks to six layers of PTI flowers, all embossed with Tin Types, this was a good choice as it was primarily the dots that rubbed off, which I thought was good for this flower. The grid side of Tin Types was pressed on the underpanel and sanded back before I took it through and die cut/embossed, this allowed the pattern to shine on through. I used another one of the Wood Flourishes (thanks Helen), in fact I used the whole packet this weekend, but that is another story.

So on this one you see the Core’dinations in its raw form (base card), textured with a plate and sanded back (top panel), and totally rubbed back (sentiment panel). I love this stuff... will be good to mix colours up on the one card too, but will save that for another time....

What’s in it?
Stamps: Verve Because of You
Paper: Core’dinations Red Rose
Ink: SU: Riding Hood Red
Extras: Papertrey: Bloom Dies, Tin Types Impression Plate; Kaiser: Wood Flourish; American Crafts: Pearl Brad; Beutron Buttons; Spellbinders: Curvy Rectangle Nestabilities.

Aruba Aruba

I used the back sides of PaperTrey Blossom dies to embossed the panel for this card... this left a sharp outline which was easily sanded back to reveal the core of this “I want to go to Aruba” card! I then went back to each of the embossed flowers and stamped the corresponding stamp in the open space. Added some direct stamping to mix it up a bit too... but still keeping with the Caardvarks Mono Challenge.

I did intend to stitch the outline, but realised the sewing machine was needled up for upholstery, so opted for some sewing thread wrapped around brads. The same thread secures the embossed scallops.

A double cut of graduated blossoms for the centre panel, one stamped with a little rodent circle... I sanded the lower panel all the way back and left the top panel in original form. A little #7, so that I could hand this over to a funky little lady, finished this card off.

What’s in it?
Stamps: PaperTrey: Beautiful Blooms II; Waltzing Mouse Stamps: Vintage Circles
Paper: Core’dinations Aruba
Ink: SU: Tempting Turquoise
Extras: Papertrey: Bloom Dies, Lg Scallop Die, Tin Types Impression Plate; Heidi Swapp: Chipboard; Random Brads, Sewing Thread.

Buttercup Hello

I wanted to get into some yellow, I started this with the intention of incorporating some Lemon Tart Ribbon, but alas I forgot that it is in storage.... so replaced the real ribbon with a faux strip and slice of border punching... just as well I had the fancy hand crocheted flowers (thanks Loretta) to mix things up.

Core’dinations at its best when you simple rub back a dotty embossing folder and the edges of an embossed label frame... and of course a great excuse to use my drawer full of Thickers, love these, they would come to a deserted island with me!!!

A big thanks to Caardvarks for the inspiration and a big thanks to you for stopping by!  I hope you have enjoyed this string of colour, let me know if you are going Mono?

Friendly Flowers are JustRite

A little something for the JustRiteStampers Friday Sketch Challenge... I had to create an oval again.... eek, without anything resembling an oval, but managed to use extended circles again to get something resembling the sketch.

It was great to use these pretty papers again, they flowed well with the pretty images in the JustRite stamps.

I directly stamped and coloured the image on the paper, and stamped and coloured a couple of individual flowers and coloured them up with copics, they are popped up on the centre panel too.

May I just say... go the ric rac die, it is lovely to work with!!

Thanks for stopping in, hope you are having a fun filled crafty loving day!

Sketchy Rodent

Here is a little offering for the Waltzing Mouse Stamps Release Sketch Competition.  It is rather bright, but themed on teaming it up with some Jaffas for a chocolatey thanks!!  Therefore, all the orange and brown (chocolate)... I love the circle stamps by WMS, so this was an obvious choice for the sketch, I replaced the medium and small circle elements with the wood scroll and heart, making the sketch my own as encouraged by Claire.

I coloured standard white ribbon and clear rhinestones with a Copic to tie in all the orange goodness.  I love this new tafetta ribbon that I found at Spotlight, it has a matt finish and is transparent...  The Wood Flourishes are coloured in with some Chocolate Chip ink too.

There are some fabulous stamps this release so will be investing in some more rodent goodness very soon!!

Do you feel like a Jaffa when you look at this, I LOVE Jaffas!!
