I have been squeezing in some making in between the insaneness of my life, so watch this space throughout this week for links and hints to the DTGD2011 Challenges...

Mischief Makers--I'd look good as a Cameo..
Have a EVER shared that I LOVE a good silhouette stamp!!! Oh so happy they are back in vogue again.... and VERY pleased with the cameo stamps that Claire has designed.... it was a great day when these arrived in my letter box.... just in time for this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!
Check out the little envelope and tag element, so many options with this... my tag is a faker and is actually fixed in the makeshift envelope.... I so so soooo wanted to get all vintage green with the cameo so started with that thought and the rest came together from there.... the little background builder stamps in these sets are so what I like... and easy to come together for a little border strip, like on this card, or a whole sheet of stamping.... I used an off-cut from the border strip to build the little paper ribbon on the top of the tag too... waste not want not and all!!!!!
Hope you have a good cameo in your life, and hope you have the time for this week's sketch, wouldn't it be fabby if you linked up and won a free stamp set....sigh!

This month the Dolce Stamps and Cards Design Team is embracing the wonder of JustRite Stampers, and enabling you with a very generous discount on this line of stamps!
I had the pleasure of using the JR Happy Everything Tag Making Kit, and just for fun I included a row of sentiments, some of which from a matching set in Just Because... it was great to use the accompanying dies in the set to make the outline tags and then utilise the BG paper to set the scene for this card...
Make sure you pop on over to the Dolce Blog to see what the other girls have been up to with their JustRite Stampers!

Chipboard Heart Be Mine!
Here is another little Viva la Verve Sketch, a square inspiration this time, and a chance to dig in my chipboard drawer to see if I had a lopsided heart.... if there was every a place to find one it would be two in two down in this drawer.... a splash of paint and a splash of glitter and she came to life in a minute.... I have always liked this label shape too, so happy to be getting that out as well!
Hope you like...

Mischief Makers--I like YELLOW it POPS!
This week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge is by the lovely Julia Aston, and I love love the four panels along the bottom of the sketch, lots of possibilities with this one!
I really wanted my new stamps to arrive for this one, but alas they did not come before the submission deadline, just after... that is life! No harm though, I got to use some of my other lovely little rodents!
I used doilies to build the round elements across the bottom of the card, and thought a big dash of yellow would be great with this paper, so kept that panel pretty clean with just the sentiment and the stitching, how I love these stitches... especially in brown!
Hope you get to play along with this fabby sketch, don't forget to link up for your chance to win a FREE stamp set, there is one on offer each and every week!
Good luck and good weekend to you all!

Floral Feathers
It was great to catch up on the Verve Sketches, this is #3 for July and called for a floral explosion and a tweeter... always happy to have a tweeter!
Check out all the traditional florals and pinks, a little out there for me, but it came together in the end.... I used portions of a BG stamp to border the two LHS strips, and then the fabby sentiment was the start of the rest.... I thought it might be fun to NOT layer up the flower, instead attach a pre-made rose this time... a lot of pink ribbon and a couple of crystal pins to finish....
Hope you are having a fab week!

Who says I can't have 12 brown ink pads?
I fought with myself for quite some time before I finally got over a nagging voice in my head that kept telling me enough was enough and I could do without another brown ink pad... and finally my most favourite brown of all time has come home!
And Miss Early Espresso stamps like a dreamy brown swirl come true.... phew!
This is a Verve sketch by the very OTT Fabby Tosha, I likey, a lot!! I separated the paper pieced panels with a good dash of rodent stitching in lovely Miss EE... and fancied up the edges of the circle die cut, flowers and leaves with Iridescent medium.... ink and sparkly stuff all in the same 30 minutes, a Sunday space filled with a dash of heavenly light... or perhaps it is my head that was light from sniffing the medium, either is good!

Diva Challenge: Ebay Baby
Here is a little card for this month's Get Your Diva on Challenge, titled Pretty Purse Plastic... to take a Plastic Gift Card as inspiration for a card.... I don't have ANY gift cards in my wallet, so I went a hunting and found this groovy card by eBay.... which I thought was appropriate for a Baby card, given that eBay has four letters, three of which make up "Baby"... not to mention many babies are suited out via eBay these days!
So I built a background with the To The Moon set, and then a mimic of the colour order of the letters from eBay and the bottom yellow and red strip from the gift card graphic... and the burst of ribbon from the top of the card was inspiration for the (much lower) green spray with a little kite from the stamp set....
I liked this challenge, fun fun fun!

Ski Money
This week we celebrated a 40th Birthday amongst friends, and gifted Ski Dollars, for the recipient to spend on a trip to the Snow.... he is off to the snow today so it won't take him long to use these up!
I built a little concertina fold booklet, with individual envelopes and tags... stamping the value of each voucher on the tags and allowing room on the back for personal messages from each person who contributed to this gift... which was very well received.
I am loving my copics for colouring in chipboard, works a treat and really holds colour well... and then some brads from very deep in the stash for more personalisation.

Mischief Makers--A Touch of Green
A funky square based sketch this week at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.... I really liked this sketch, its form made my process super smooth this week, so thanks for that Julia!!!
I love this paper collection and have been waiting to use the woodgrain background.... so went with this as a starting point, and then of course the easy decision to use kraft and cream with it.... the doily stamps nest up really well too! A quick sentiment and some stitching and this was D for Done!
Hope you get to play along, don't forget to link up your creation for a chance to win a FREE stamp set, there is one on offer each week....

Dolce--For Art Thou Butterly.... Take 2
And here is another card using the lovely Floral Butterfly from Dolce Stamps and Cards. This time I took inspiration from the need to incorporate green into a birthday card, and then settling on these newish papers. I took some stain to the modern look papers to give them a bit of age, thought this would tie in well with the the look and feel of the stamp.Once again I coloured the stamp in with Copic Markers, however, this time I used a double image, but with the top image I cut it down and rebuilt a smaller version of the butterfly, I thought this worked quite well. The 3D Dots really add good dimension to the butterfly wings.
Hope you like this one, I like all the muted, yet sunny yellow with the pop of green.... see you soon!

MOJO198 A Birdie Wish
Here I am voluntarily using a sketch for inspiration... the world really has turned! I do like the strips on this sketch, and that was a good start for me... I left off the square panel and filled the space with a flower and leaves, all in black on black, thanks to some of my fave embossing powder... and the little birdie for the star element, I LOVE these birds, and will no doubt be getting some more of these as I am burning through them at the moment...
Hope you like!

Mischief Makers--A Puffy Celebration
It is all about overlapping elements with this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, they don't need to be circles, but it will get you motivated to layer up different elements, don't forget to link it up for you chance to win a free stamp set, there is one on offer each week....
I started with the blossom element and the whopping big Prima Rose, which is the last in my pack--phew... it happened to be sharing space with a scrap off a crocheted doily so they came together and formed the centre of the label element, which is extended with parts of a spellbinders tag and tag top from the labels 18 stamp set....
That's it from my stamp space today, a very busy week for me in my real job!
Hope you are having a great week!

There is a Henry in the House...
There is a new baby amongst the mix, this time a boy with a regal name.... that of Henry!
I used this week's Viva la Verve Challenge as a starting point for this card.... which like the baby is not on the side of little... I used the circles of the solar system on the BG paper for the circle element and kept the squares in line with the sketch... some coloured chipboard, brads, button and twine for the kites to finish this one off... enjoy!

My Baby Sister's Numbers Match Today...
My baby sister is 33 today, how time flies, I do very clearly remember the day she was born... my family worked together to give her a sewing themed birthday... her first sewing machine, a box full of sewing necessities... a good expensive pair of fabric scissors, the type that need their own case... she is a little "rustic", so I thought a felt case with raw edges would be to her liking, and I dressed it up with the totally fabby MFT Rolled Daisy, pressed out in felt, with a HUGE rhinestone in the centre... this sits over velcro, in my experience, the best closure for a case of this nature....
The tag was inspired by this month's MFT Guest DT Challenge to add A Touch of Texture to a project.... lots of die cutting with a good mix of their Die-namics, with a mixture of patterned paper, card, and felt in the layers under the sentiment.... and then for the swing tag I used two ends of a border punch and pulled them through my Xyron before adhering them together and threading some ribbon through... I thought we might just give her this... and send her on a little hunt for the bigger boxes... a bit of bright birthday fun...
I hope you like!

Check out the little floral etchings on the wings of the butterfly.... oh my! I opted for a pink and red theme on kraft, so embossed the image in red and then coloured the negative space with a couple of pink copics.... I edged the card base with the smaller butterfly in versamark ink.
It was fun to build the different strips of embellishing... colouring up the chipboard and lining them up, covering these with mesh and then a long forgotten, but very punchy, piece of colourful ribbon! The pearls strips from Mark Richards colour up a treat, and I am please to report stay nice and straight mid-air, making placement easy, phew!
I really love this stamp and will be using it again and again, so many options with the negative space, so watch this space!
Thanks for coming by today and do go over to Dolce to have a look at what the other girls are up to...
