Pretty Cool Dude!

Here is a card I made recently for a Splitcoaststampers' Featured Stamper Challenge.... the honour this time went to Daiseyfreak and I CASEed her card called Davey and Dino....

I liked the orange and brown in Joy's card, and had a little image that needed a home so I went with this.... but instead of using patterned paper I stamped my own.

I was stoked to get this stamp set recently and I have diligently coloured and cut out one of each image, so they will be making an appearance on the blogaroo over the coming weeks... I never thought I would get into this type of image, but I am really enjoying them.... lots of different ways to add pesonality.... this one is a cool dude in his tracky, that he probably paid way too much money for... enjoy!

Mix Up the Pinks Miss Percy!

Here is a card with some of my new LOVE IT LOTS paper... love the cross range of pink tones in this pack, very me... although this mix is rather country feminine, thanks to the gingham and fancy old lady roses....

I like the sketch... and got to use some of my gee whiz big ric rac!  The tag got a bit swallowed by the busy paper selection.... will be better when my new Verve Tags arrive I think.... I am not being very patient am I!!!

Until soon....

Sparkle My Heart...thanks!

I love my new crushed glass glitter and went to town on an over sized heart element for this card.... to make up for the fact that my new Verve order has still not swum the ocean to my door.... hopefully on Monday, please Mr Post!

I only bought two pieces of the Authentique "Blue Range" and made sure they were primarily grey in tone.... but there is a little bit of vibrant blue poking through, and wouldn't you know it I had a piece of random ribbon in the stash that colour matched..... scary!

I got all bejewelled by adding the round and heart sprinkles.

Hope this shines for you today!

Sketchy Tech Girl

Here is a little card with a crooked ambition that was inspired by this week's MFT Sketch Challenge at Splitcoaststampers....  I fell into this type of crooked without too much hassle this time... has to be the new papers I used, 'cause I don't really go for anything too crooked!!

I used the left over edges of the border die to edge the vertical strip and got totally happy using my new Face Time ALM....LOVE this stamp... got the inspiration to use different faces from other stamps from the release, so thanks to whichever designer did this at the time... lots of fun!

The sentiment tab is an off-cut from one of the label die cuts, and I added a little extra element with the string and button, I think the challenge police will allow this, this time!

Thanks for stopping by!

DOLCE--Happy Days

Check out this month's stamps at Dolce Stamps and Cards.... Local King Rubber Stamps.... I have always been a little attracted to trailer and caravan stamps, so had a quiet smile when these arrived... mainly because it would take a rather special event to get me to go on a road trip in a caravan, but I know many who do, so this stamp will be a great addition to the stash!

And considering the truck and van combo, I had to go for a Red Truck with a matching van and tray combo... and of course wherever you go it is going to be blue skies, white clouds and a glorious sun.... I am really liking the metal spots in colour, like the red ones I used here... very man-ly too!

Be sure to head over to the Dolce Blog to catch up on what the other girls are making with their stamps...Enjoy!

Mischief Makers--Romancing the Tag

This week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge encourages use of a tag, either on its own or as part of a card.... I went with the solo option.... and flipped the horizontal elements so that they went vertically across this little tag.... this way I could incorporate the little "for" and "from" sentiments in a trio with the main "Best Wishes" sentiment....

I like that I got to go all a Rosy with the cameo too... I love love love these Prima flowers and they fit nicely with the BG paper that I wanted to use, so I opted for these and off-setting the panels, in place of stitching the three panels on... mix it up with the rodent sketches, that is totally AOK!

So the cameo is direct stamped onto a lacey oval die cut, which didn't quite get the lace out so it has some nice little arc features instead of wholes... go with what happens I say!

Hope you get to get "taggy wid it" this week, don't forget to link up for your chance to win win win a free Free FREE stamp set!

Thanks for taking a look!

DTGD2011--Who is Understandblue?

Well this is the very last card that I finished off for this year's Dare to Get Dirty Challenges, and I saved one of my fave mediums until last..... PAINT!

I love to get my paints out, especially the cream ones.... so I used a die cut transperency to hold a blotched application of paint and also used paint on the charming bird.... there is a little Who is kharmagirl sketch in this creation as well.... gotta love a Jodi sketch!

And more green and brown.... what can I say.... it sings to me!

Hope you have enjoyed DTGD this year.... before we know it the time will come around again, thanks for looking!

Here is another card that I made for the recent Dare to Get Dirty Challenges at Splitcoaststampers.... I have loved Wild Wasabi since before it was even invented!!!!!

This combined a couple of challenges, including a sketch and the need for some pinking, which seams to be the rage at the moment...

This is all from me on this one...., hope to be back to card making soon!

Some things you can say goodbye to... others?

So I am at the stage of purging my stamp sets, yet again... and the rule was every time I went into a section of stamps I had to look through and decide on things to pay forward.... I touched this stamp set and said, no... not yet!!!  I like this blessing and the script in this set, so it is staying for a little while longer yet....

I used a Verve Sketch for this card, another square, which meant a lot of open space, and plenty of room for the big blessing and a little birthday sentiment on the horizontal panel.... this is the last of this type of laser cut heart.... but I still have plenty of resin flowers, probably because I bought enough for 10 people when they first came back into vogue!

Until soon...

DTGD2011--Who is sweetmissdaisy?

Here is another card I made for the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges, the challenge time period is over now, but you are welcome to play along with any of the Splitcoaststampers Challenges at any time you like!

This one combined a touch of country with a sketch.... and I found this country fence scene in the workshop drawers at Daisychainscrapbooks when I was last there.... so it got stamped off especially for use on this challenge.... I double popped the beehive and the rabbit for a bit of extra texture... and used the Calendar in the BG paper to feature August and then 16 is for the date of a friend's birthday (she probably wishes she was 16 again... but alas she is a large multiple of that!!!!).

Here is to all things country!

DTGD2011--Who is Wendybell

Here is a little card that was made during the recent Dare to Get Dirty Challenges over at Splitcoaststampers... it is a very funky fold (video by Wendybell) that would lend well to all themes of paper, the next time I make a card like this I am going to go with an Asian theme... but this time I reached for an old but lovely piece of patterned paper... and dressed it with a good dash of Verve.

Enjoy!

Mischief Makers--Cake with Sparkles Please

This week's Waltzingmouse Sketch provides two options, a scrapbooking layout or a card.... no guesses needed to know that I gave the page layout a big miss and stuck with my card card card option!

I thought the circle feature would be a good place to house a cake and went forward from there... probably a little adventurous to go with the two shades of pink on top of the yellow 'cause the only way forward from there is seriously girlie, but it was fun to try a pastel but bright little number with this sketch.... and I got to include some sparking Thickers so all is good!

Good news to report.... the flowers are sooo easy to line up on this cake image!

Hope you find time to play along with the challenge this week, link up and free stamp set may be yours!

Enjoy!

Colour or Colouring?

Here is a little weekly sketch challenge from Splitcoaststampers.... on first look I would agree that this screams out for some copic colouring but I was so not in the mood for that when I made this card, but I was in need of a pick me up, so I got to work with a group of colours as opposed to colouring!

I like using repeat sentiments, and the fabby echo park paper was a great inspiration for the colour choices....  I used a 3 tier flower for the oval element on the sketch, and look closely... there is  some purple ink embossed with kaleidoscope embossing powder, what a flash back it was to pull that out!

I hope this pops for you as much as it did for me!

Make It Monday: Glitter Style

I wanted to use some of my new PaperTrey purchases, so got inspiration from their Make it Monday Challenge to put a glitter border around die cuts, this is easy and fun and adds a bit of bling and a subtle texture....

I love these papers from Echo Park, and they worked well with the glitter and die cuts I think.... I put a darker colour of pink at the top of the sentiment panel, making sure the ribbon placement would hide the seam where the lighter colour met the dark.

More from this set soon, it is a winner!

Thanks for dropping in!

DTGD2011 Who is Mothermark?

She is a made hatter who loves to mix it up in every way possible and hostess of a Dare to Get Dirty Challenge which she called DIRT... it is TOTALLY up my alley in every single way, and here is the little card that resulted from her inspiration.... it is based on something I have in my house and on all R _ D.... find out all the dirty details over in the forum, and play along, the prize timeline has passed, but you can still play along, would love to see what you come up with for this challenge!

I coloured up a string of strips of BG paper with a suite of copic markers from light to dark R _ D... and then on a co-ordinating piece of BG paper another set for the vertical strips... and then let my little woven heart go to work.... and it totally lines up in nice neat little rows just like my inspiration piece.... and has a little bit of flamboyance in the corner too... hope you like!

Diva Challenge: Tag You're It!

Here is a card that I made that was based on a Verve Sketch and made with a tag that I made up for this month's Verve Get Your Diva on Challenge.

I decided to stamp and hand cut the groups of flowers in black and then long stitch some texture into them... they sit atop the fabby scroll die cut and the tags are finished off with little bits of stamping, stitching, rhinestones and a border die cut up for the top notch.

I used a lovely Maya Road transparent doily for the circle feature in the sketch and paper with plenty of pop to go with the drama of the red and black flowers....

I liked how these turned out, and let's face it anything that start with black is bound for goodness!

Hope you like..... until soon!

Dolce--A Chirped Up Wish

Here is another card with the Dolce Stamps and Cards' featured company this month which is JustRite Stampers....

For this card combined a sentiment and tag from the Happy Everything Tag Making Kit, with a ring and flower from Mother Nature's Gift set... it was fun to build up the flower and make it pop with the 3D Dots, and to place it off centre in the circle allowed me to open the space and include my singing bird.... hope you like!

Make sure you pop on over to the Dolce Blog and check out what the girls have been up to with their JustRite Stampers...

Mischief Makers--Styled in Brown

Kelly gave us another great sketch this week for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, it had a topper which is one of my fave things, so I fell right into this one... keeping the layers pretty CAS so as not to take away from the stamped panel... love that, thanks Kelly!

So I cut an edge with the ornate die and left enough paper to allow it to be folded back at the top, showing both sides of the fabby paper and providing a bit of dimension given I wasn't planning on adding fussy bows and buttons....

The sentiment was centred on the sketch, so I kept it tiny on either side of the fab cameo.... in love with making cameos at the moment, they so remind me of my Nana!!  Bless, I have one of her cameos and cherish it!

Thanks for looking..... hope you are playing along this week and have linked up for your chance to win a free stamp set!

Friday Night Fancy...

Not often that I actually write a blog post on a Friday night... but I was motivated to join in with the Flourishes release Scavenger Hop Challenge, and whipped up this card with a few touches of fabby images and a new little bit of paper and powder....

I needed to use pink, so used every shade I had from so bright it is nearly red, to so pale it is nearly white, even one with a purple taint to the pink..... I went around the outside of the eyelet square with some pink stain as well... and looky at the little butterflies, I have embossed them with some new powder that is all a vintage and delightful in that it has shabby pink and bits of gold dust mixed in with the white, liking this!

I made up the bejewelled bow centre with a simple shirt button covered in bling, great way to use up these sorts of buttons....

Anyways, must be off, things to do before I sit down to watch Escape to the Country!

Enjoy!

DTGD2011--Who is Jeanne S

Don't tell anyone that I made a Christmas Card this early or my reputation will be SHOT!!!  It would only be in the effort of a Dare to Get Dirty Challenge, which one is it... and who is to BLAME!!

I actually also got jiggy with it and used a template from the resources section as well, shock!  This is a box card, and I love how it comes together from one piece of paper with minimum cutting and a good dose of ScorPal wonder.... I can see me making these up out of a stack of superseded papers in my stash.... woohoo!

Hope you likey, and I hope I don't have to think about Christmas again for a good 5 months!

DTGD2011--Who is SuzanneJDean?

This was one of the Dare to Get Dirty Challenge from Splitcoaststampers... this one was rather challenging for me given its theme was Fall.... but I managed to pair the theme with a sketch and a couple of other challenges to come up with some Autumn (Fall) tones, as it is not the custom to celebrate Fall in Australia.....

So here is a little card made with Special Autumn from TGF and a big puffy flower atop some crazy BG dots.... a little out there, but some funky person will like the tones in this card I am sure....

The time has passed for making card to enter into the prize drawers for DTGD but you can play along with the challenges at any time, just head over to the forum for all the details... enjoy!

DTGD2011--Who is debbiedee?

Well this month's MFT Guest DT Challenge was to make something to wear... I mixed this with one of the Splitcoaststampers Dare to Get Dirty Challenges and made a little name badge for myself... a bit of rolled daisy love went into this one... I built a little base for each of the letters with the fabby die cut flowers and positioned the first letter in the spot of the world in the much loved a la mode stamp.... not only does she have the world in her hands but me as well... I really enjoyed working with grey and pink again too, one of my all time favourite colour combinations!

Hope you are finding time to join in all the challenges over at Splitcoaststampers, inspiration to be had at every turn!

MFT Die--licious!

Well I ordered up a storm at last week's MFT Release, and considering I have a small army of new dies on the way I thought I should dust off some that I have had for a while and haven't see as much light as they should have!

I used the MFT weekly sketch challenge to get me started.... using a piece of patterned paper across the three back panels, I like tiling the image on paper, always comes up a treat....

And then I ripped out the matching chippies for this funky vintage paper and set to work on building the round element, I like how this came together with the lovely little rolled roses.

I have definitely found my paper groove thanks to the recent DTGD challenges over at Splitcoaststampers, the supplies are out and in use... CELEBRATION!!!

Hope you are finding time to create as well!

The Beauty of CAS--One layer or two?

Well I played a DTGD Challenge that needed to be one layer, and although I appreciated the challenge I knew I would much prefer this card with a touch more.... so I planned ahead and used a flourishes image so that this could morph into an entry for the Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful Challenge, which this month is all about the Beauty of CAS.

So I kept the original design flat, but with space to add the glittering ribbon between the two layers of stamped lace at the bottom of the card.... threading the silver through the button took just about as long as it did to make the whole card.... but it was worth it to have the extra touch of sparkle.... only for my beloved SILVER!

Hope you like this ramped up version that is still CAS...

DTGD2011--Who is debdeb?

So here is another sample card I made for the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges over at Splitcoaststampers.... I made the little flowers in the corner from co-ordinating paper, and then built a little tent style card with the fancy picture from the "oh my" patterned paper.... such a pretty scene that I had to pretend it was a magical moment by adding in some sparkles and a little wishful sentiment....

I love this paper and there will be more to come from this little stash, be still heart be still!

Hope you are enjoying all the DTGD samples and challenge cards this week, more to come soon!

Mischief Makers--When a Rodent Eats Dirt you get Cakes

This week I am combining a Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge with a Dare to Get Dirty Challenge... the result is a row of loved up rodent cakes.... thanks for the great sketch Kelly.... I had a big flash back to when I used to make criss-cross cards all the time... so this is where I started and then I needed some baking to go with one of the DTGD challenges and I of course thought of my little rodent cakes... which, just as a side note, I have always coloured in before... but this time I tried out the accompanying cake layers and stamped them in with ink... lining up was a breeze and I will be turning to this more often from here forward, fabby!

So there is a little embossing and double layering of ink in there too... and I love the glittering paper, adds a good dash of sparkle to go with the cake sprinkles and fabby font in the sentiment.... and if you look really closely you will be able to see the sparkle in the ribbon too.... bling-a-ling!

Hope you like and that you play along for your chance to win a free stamp set.... just link up your card on the Challenge Blog.... and link it again in the gallery for another chance to win win win!

Until tomorrow!

DTGD2011--Who is sf9erfan?

Here is a little sample for the lovely Michelle who is sf9erfan and her Dare to Get Dirty Challenge, it should be pretty obvious by the card, but you can check out the details in the FORUM.

I had fun with this one... cutting and inking up some new PTI and a little fella who I haven't used too often, but will now that I have got the attitude right in the way he wears his jeans!  Some wonky stitching to get a bit of boy into this little creation!

Hope you are playing along with the challenges, there are some fab things happening in the gallery.... enjoy!

DTGD2011--Who is Knightrone?

Well I really enjoyed providing this sample for the fabulous Jessie as part of this year's Dare to Get Dirty Challenges over at Splitcoaststampers.... It needed three things, check out the forum to find out what they were??

Very importantly I got to ink up a new little stamp that has been looking at me from my "new stuff" pile for a little too long, and isn't she sweet!  I decided to go all soft and pastel with the colour scheme so that I could use a string of buttons across the front of the card.... this is where it started and it ended with a good lick of glitter on the wings.... I have a couple more LOTV stamps that I am now itching to use.... lovely illustration on these and a special type of charm about them.... very happy with this little purchase from across the miles!

Thanks for stopping by.....

DTGD2011--Who is Cindy_Haffner?

Another sample for the Splitcoaststampers' Dare to Get Dirty Challenge week, this time for the super versatile Cindy_Haffner.... what ohhh what did Cindy challenge us to make.... check out all the details for this and all the other challenges in the FORUM ..... Enjoy!

I had a great time building all the elements for this card.... and of course the cake batter had to be chocolate--gotta be into the details!  The 5 & Dime collection seemed to be calling my name when I thought of this stamp, so I went all out and incorporated the papers with the embellishment pack that I have been "saving"... nice to break it open, it might stay that way now... hope you like!

DTGD2011--Who is Edna15?

Well today it is my turn to host a Dare to Get Dirty Challenge, it is something rather close to my heart... and one of the things that make Splitcoaststampers such a wonder.... check it out in the Dare to Get Dirty Forum.... I hope you play along!

For this card, I used the world element from the MFT a la mode to build the little patch of BG paper... I thought this went nicely atop the scene of downtown Paris!  The "Ticket" is handwriting, handcut etc... and the scroll is a double cut, spliced and put back together again, I like doing this!

Where are you off to next?
