Waltzingmouse Stamps: March Preview Day 3--Folk Art Medallion

Today the Waltzingmouse Design Team is showcasing the very lovely Folk Art Medallion... I love all the stamps in this release, but in saying that, this is by far my FAVOURITE of this release... a real dream to work with and makes my heart happy with all the stamping combinations, if you love stamping backgrounds and building elements you will love this set, and if you haven't loved so in the past, it's time to join the queue, you will soon be a convert and an addict!!

All the details can be found on Claire's Blog along with deets on how to win free stamps this release...

This first card has a stamped background, built with many of the co-ordinating stamps in this set, there are lots of different inks in this one, and a good dash of distress ink over the top to bring them all in to tone, the stamping is really easy, connectors are easy to find, and it comes together in no time.  I wanted to allow a large majority of the background stamping to stay in focus so went with a simple flower and sentiment combo... but in saying this the flower is made from the large medallion stamp from this set, with little flowers stamped in the openings of the medallion.  I simply stamped onto calico, inked up the spaces, cut a circle from the centre and pulled the flower into the centre with a thread and needle... this turned out exactly as I had hoped, I love this stamp set, it is already in my Top 5 All Time Rodents!

P.S.  There is a little snap of the medallion flower in the making below...

The next card shows the medallion on the half circle, I like to split big stamps this way, adds some difference and interest, in this case allowing for some open space in the centre, and more of the medallion to be on show.  There is a bit of fussy cutting in the tag, but I always like this part of card making, so approached the sentiment panel with this in train.... the four cornered flower is one of the stamps with elements cut away, I like how the negative space works on these, and they became the perfect shape to balance the elements in the end.  There is nothing but card and ink, and a few rhinestones in this card... this set is great to get you back to the basics of stamping, I have really enjoyed getting all of my inks out too, it helps justify why I have soooooooo verrrry mannnny!

The Design Team is in full force again today, here is your viewing list, I will be really interested to see all the variations on theme with this set, there are sooooo many stamps to choose from, surely we won't all use the same ones, enjoy!!
